Browse recordings from IP cameras plus RTSP URL discovery for 17 manufacturers
ORLANDO, FL - February 1, 2026 - WINK Streaming today announced the release of WINK Camera Studio 1.4, adding comprehensive ONVIF Profile G support that enables users to browse, search, and download recordings stored directly on IP cameras. The update includes an intelligent authentication chain that automatically handles the complex authentication requirements of different camera manufacturers.
Accessing recordings from IP cameras has traditionally required manufacturer-specific software or complex VMS integrations. WINK Camera Studio 1.4 provides a universal solution using ONVIF Profile G specifications, allowing security professionals to access edge recordings from any compatible camera regardless of manufacturer.
"Many cameras store weeks of footage on SD cards or local NAS, but getting that footage out has always been a pain," said the WINK development team. "With Profile G support, you can now browse recordings by date, preview clips, and download evidence directly - all from one cross-platform tool."
Different camera manufacturers implement ONVIF authentication differently, often causing compatibility issues. WINK Camera Studio 1.4 introduces an intelligent authentication chain that automatically tries multiple methods:
This approach ensures maximum compatibility without requiring users to configure authentication manually.
| Manufacturer | Recording | Search | Replay | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amcrest | Full | Full | Full | Complete Profile G support |
| Axis | Full | Full | Full | Via authentication chain |
| Bosch | Full | Full | Full | Via authentication chain |
| Hikvision | Partial | Partial | Partial | Some auth compatibility issues |
The WINK_OnvifProbe CLI tool now includes two new commands for scripted workflows:
recordings - List all recordings from a camera with track details (codec, resolution, audio)download - Get replay URIs and optionally download recordings using ffmpegThese commands enable automation of evidence collection and backup workflows across large camera deployments.
The latest 1.4.1 update adds an intelligent URL Guesser that discovers RTSP stream URLs by trying manufacturer-specific patterns. Supporting 17 camera manufacturers:
Hikvision, Dahua, Amcrest, Axis, Reolink, Uniview, Hanwha/Samsung, Vivotek, Bosch, Panasonic, Sony, Honeywell, Pelco, Geovision, FLIR, Foscam, and Generic patterns.
WINK_OnvifProbe is now available as a separate download for users who need command-line access without the full GUI. The CLI supports camera discovery, RTSP probing, recording downloads, and the new guess command for URL discovery.
