Free network discovery tool now the most comprehensive camera finder available
ORLANDO, FL - February 5, 2026 - WINK Streaming today released WINK LAN Camera Finder 1.1, a major update to its free network camera discovery tool. The new version introduces automatic device type classification, smart filtering, and enhanced discovery using six different protocols. The tool now scans 90+ ports and includes a database of 75,000+ MAC vendor codes for instant manufacturer identification.
Version 1.1 uses six different discovery methods to ensure no camera goes undetected:
The new classification system automatically identifies and color-codes devices based on detected characteristics:
Classification uses a weighted scoring algorithm that considers open ports, MAC vendor, web interface content, and protocol responses to accurately categorize each device.
The confidence scoring system separates real cameras from false positives by analyzing multiple indicators:
| Finding | Score Impact |
|---|---|
| ONVIF WS-Discovery response | +95 |
| RTSP stream on port 554 | +85 |
| RTSP on non-standard port | +70 |
| Camera API port (Hikvision 8000, Dahua 37777) | +40 |
| Known camera MAC vendor | +15 |
| Server software detected (nginx, Apache) | -50 |
| Proxmox/virtualization platform | -100 |
Devices scoring below 20% are automatically filtered as likely false positives. The new filter dropdown allows users to adjust visibility based on confidence levels.
The enhanced Deep Scan mode now examines 90+ ports including manufacturer-specific APIs:
The built-in MAC vendor database instantly identifies the hardware manufacturer from the device's MAC address, recognizing Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Reolink, Ubiquiti, Amcrest, Foscam, Lorex, Hanwha, Bosch, Panasonic, Vivotek, Uniview, and thousands more.
WINK LAN Camera Finder 1.1.0 is available immediately as a free download. Self-contained executables require no installation or runtime dependencies.
